My tools for repainting dolls

tools for paint dolls

If you'd like to repaint 1/6-scale dolls like Barbie, Integrity Dolls, or even XianXian Dolls, then this list of materials will help you.

These are just a few of the tools I use, but you can find the complete list in my Comprehensive Tutorial Guide to Repainting Dolls:

  • Doll heads for painting: I use these heads to paint on them. I enjoy painting on the plastic of these dolls, and their facial features help me create a wide variety of results. You have doll heads with blonde, brunette, red, or even pink hair.

  • Watercolor pencils: Watercolor pencils have many uses when painting OOAK heads. They are especially useful for painting the lip area.

  • Washi Tape: there's a type of tape that helps secure the wrist guard around your entire face and hair so your hair doesn't get stained. Washi tape is the perfect choice because even if it sticks to your hair, it can be easily removed without breaking your hair.

  • Bodies for dolls: You can finish your dolls by adding a body that matches the color of their faces. Bodies are available in a range of shades, from very light to very dark. I recommend using MENGF bodies because they are of higher quality. I recommend using MENGF bodies because they are higher quality. Alternatively, you can use Luly bodies; they aren't as good as the MENGF ones, but they're still a valid option.
